2012 Pennsylvania’s One Book Every Young Child Event

You are invited to snore along with author Zachariah O’Hora as we read the 2012 Pennsylvania One Book Every Young Child book selection, “Stop Snoring Bernard.”

Pennsylvania’s One Book Program highlights the importance of early literacy development in preschoolers ages 3-6. This program is supported in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services Technology Act as administered byPennsylvania’s Office of Commonwealth Libraries.

“Stop Snoring Bernard” follows the lovable sea otter, Bernard, as he tries to find a place in the zoo where his loud snoring won’t disturb the other animals. The book encourages young readers to appreciate what makes each of us different.

There will be a traveling trunk for the children to explore. The trunk contains book related activities, games and manipulatives to bring the museum experience to children and posters with activities linked toPennsylvania’s Early Learning Standards. A craft activity will round out this hour of learning fun.

Mark your calendar for this “Snoring” event. The fun begins at the Hoyt Library at 3:30 p.m. and continues for one hour on Tuesday, April 10, 2012. Registration is required for the event.

For more information call the Hoyt Library at 570-287-2013, extension 239.
